SafeLink®
Patented digital SafeLink® Digital Technology provides the maximum protection against false activation caused by stray radio signals. SafeLink Digital Technology is less prone to interference than the AM systems used by other brands, and that makes ours the most secure hidden fence available.
FastReact®
The fastest reaction time in the industry. If your dog runs at the boundary, the receiver reacts with the warning signal before he reaches the wire, not while he is traveling over it.
AutoMemory®
Patented AutoMemory automatically adjusts the correction after your pet challenges the boundary. This discourages additional boundary challenges. If your pet challenges the boundary with the receiver set to level 3, 4, 5 or 6, AutoMemory will be initiated. For the next 24 hours, the correction will be equivalent to the next level if the dog attempts to re-enter the signal field. For example, if AutoMemory is triggered with the receiver set at level 4, the correction will be equivalent to level 5 for the next 24-hours. After 24 hours with no boundary challenges, the correction returns to the original setting.
TattleTale™
If your pet challenges his boundary, the status light on the receiver double flashes, an indication that you may need to adjust the fence settings. The receiver resets after 24 hours without a boundary challenge.
Receiver Status Light
Our receivers have a unique status light that provides valuable information to help keep your pet safely in your yard. It also lets you know if the receiver battery is low and if your pet has recently challenged the hidden fence.
Audible Warning Alert
MaxxBoundary includes an audible warning signal to alert your dog that they are approaching the boundary. This warning signal helps your pet quickly learn to stop before they reach the boundary wire.
GentleFit™ Contact Posts
Optional GentleFit™ Contact Posts are easy on your dog’s skin. They are smooth like our standard stainless steel contact posts to minimize friction and low profile for a comfortable Pet-Friendly™ fit.
High Impact, Waterproof
The receiver is tested to withstand the harsh outdoor elements of rain, sleet and snow, as well as rigorous play!
Automatic Shutdown
The MaxxBoundary system is designed to protect your pet from an over-correction in the unlikely event that your dog stands in the signal field and does not quickly exit. The receiver will automatically reset once the dog leaves the signal field.
Lightning Protection
Our Hidden Fences include the very best lightning/surge protection available as a standard feature. External protection directs power surges and lightning away from your home; internal protection suppresses surges coming in through your house wiring.
PowerPak™
Our optional PowerPak keeps your fence working temporarily if you lose power. With a PowerPak, you have added protection to ensure your pet’s safety. Provides up to 8 hours of backup protection.
Loop Monitor
Our Loop Monitor alerts you if there is a break in the boundary wire. This is an invaluable safety feature for underground fences.
Flexible Training Levels
The transmitter and receiver offer up to twenty unique options (plus audible only) to ensure safe, appropriate containment for all pets. The settings are easy to understand and user adjustable (no service call required).
Proven Training Program
We provide on-site training using a safe and effective training program that includes visual recognition of boundary flags, learning to retreat from the audible (or vibration) warning signal and learning that there is an unpleasant sensation if they cross the boundary.
Flexible, Affordable Containment Areas
Over the river and through the woods? Backyard only . . . but not the pool and flower garden? Create a swimming area in the lake? It can be done. A hidden fence is more flexible and less expensive than a traditional fence. And your dog can’t jump over, dig under or chew through a hidden fence!
Works for Cats (and more!)
Our products are effective for cats, too! Create an invisible boundary that keeps your cat in your yard and out of the kids’ sandbox. You can also create an indoor cat fence to keep kitty off the kitchen counter, away from your new sofa and out of the baby’s room. And you can use the system for cat containment and dog containment at the same time! Also works for other pets including pigs, goats, sheep and more!

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a hidden fence?
A hidden fence is an underground pet fencing system that uses a radio signal to keep your dog in a designated containment area, such as a yard; or out of an area, such as a swimming pool, patio, or garden. Hidden fences can also be used to create Indoor Boundaries that work inside your home to keep your pet off a couch, out of a room or away from a kitchen counter.
Hidden fences are often mistakenly referred to generically as “invisible fences”. Invisible Fence® is a brand name and Registered Trademark of the Invisible Fence Company.
How do hidden dog fences work?
Hidden fences are created by burying a ‘boundary wire’ a few inches underground around your property. The buried wire carries a harmless, low level radio signal from a transmitter installed in your house or garage. Your pet wears a lightweight, waterproof receiver collar that recognizes the radio signal. As your pet approaches the buried wire, the receiver collar emits a warning signal (audible or vibration). If your pet travels further, he will receive a mild but safe stimulation (also called a “correction”) from the receiver collar. Through a training program, your pet learns to recognize his fence boundaries and learns to stop at the warning signal. Although there are differences in some of the product features, this is how all hidden fences work.
With an indoor system, the hidden wire runs around your couch, under the lip of the counter, around the trash or across a doorway or wherever you need to create either a containment area or an “off-limits” area. We also have “wireless” indoor units that do not require placement of a boundary wire.
How does my dog learn where the hidden fence boundary is?
The training includes teaching your pet to recognize the containment area boundaries through a combination of voice commands, audible warning signals from the receiver collar and visual flags that are set in the yard where the pet hears the warning alert. With training, the dog remembers the placement of the flags and associates the flags with the warning signal. As your pet learns, the flags are slowly taken away. Your pet also learns that if he continues beyond the flags and warning alert, he will receive a mild correction (a stimulation from the collar). After training, most dogs do not cross the boundary; they usually stop before the warning signal to avoid the correction.
If my dog leaves the yard and then comes back, will he or she receive a correction when crossing back into the yard?
Our Hidden Fences systems include PetFriendly™ training. As a result, dogs using our hidden fences rarely leave the containment area. In the rare instance that a pet does leave the containment area, MaxxBoundary includes WelcomeHome™ technology. The WelcomeHome technology allows a pet to return to their yard without a correction.
Will the stimulation from a hidden fence collar hurt my dog?
No. The “stimulation” from the collar is unpleasant, but it will not “burn” or injure your pet. It is a sensation similar to the static shock you receive after walking across a carpet in your socks. It is uncomfortable, but it does not harm you.
How much do hidden fences cost?
The cost for a Hidden Fence is almost always much less than traditional fencing. The cost varies based on which system is right for you, the number of pets, the size of the property, how many sidewalk and driveway cuts, if you want internal “garden loops”, etc. In addition to costing less than traditional fences, hidden fences provide more flexibility and more secure containment than traditional fences. For example, you can contain your dog in your yard, but keep him out of a pool area, garden or driveway gate. Plus, your dog cannot jump over, chew through or dig under a hidden fence. And hidden fences don’t need to be painted and don’t deteriorate like traditional fences.
Retail brands may seem to cost less than installed brands, but they do not include installation (which can be challenging), training (which is very important), ongoing support or a good Warranty program. Also, installed products tend to be better quality than retail brands.
